Abstract: The buzzword in the teaching/learning process at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) is technology whereby students are encouraged to be innovative, as they learn to solve problems on their own. The catch, however, comes when one looks at the LUCT examination policy which does not allow the harnessing or use of technology of any kind by candidates in the examination room yet technology will have been used during the teaching/learning process. Rule 7 on the institution’s rules and regulations list prohibits students from using any form of technology in the examination room. Using a mixture of interviews and focus group discussions with lecturers and students, this study sought to establish the merits and demerits of the LUCT examination policy in comparison to the assessment method that allows the use of teaching/learning technology in the examination room with students of journalism and media in the Faculty of Communication, Media and Broadcasting (FCMB) in the University. Data was gathered and presented qualitatively.
